Travelling light: the perfect summer suitcase
The holidays are approaching and, with them, the eternal question of the suitcase. We tend to pack everything "just in case", only to wear the same things over and over once we arrive. This year, we're travelling light.
The ten-piece rule
For a week away, ten or so pieces are enough, as long as they all go together:
- 3 tops (a white T-shirt, a Breton top, a blouse);
- 2 bottoms (jeans or flowing trousers, a skirt or shorts);
- 1 dress, for evening or daytime;
- 1 light knit, for cool evenings and the plane;
- 1 shirt, worn on its own or open as a light jacket;
- 2 pairs of shoes: sandals and trainers.
A short palette
The secret lies in colour. Choose two or three shades that work together (ecru, navy, a touch of colour): everything mixes and matches, and each piece creates several outfits.
Don't forget your knitwear
Even in summer, a fine knit is essential: on the train, on the plane, for evenings by the sea. Folded, it takes up very little room and rescues many an evening.
Fold or roll?
Roll T-shirts and light knits; fold shirts. And keep a cloth bag for laundry: it doubles as a beach bag.
