How to care for your knitwear?

Why taking care of mesh is essential

Knitwear is a vibrant, natural, warm, and comforting material. But to ensure a wool sweater or cardigan retains its shape, softness, and color, proper care is essential. A well-treated knit ages beautifully... and stays with you for years to come.

Washing knitwear: gentleness above all

Knitwear does not like harsh washing or rapid spin cycles.

• Hand washing : use cold or lukewarm water (never hot!) with a special wool or delicate detergent , without enzymes or bleaching agents.
• Machine wash : choose a wool or delicate cycle , with a very gentle spin (max 400 rpm) . Place your items in a washing net for added protection.

💡 Good to know: Mesh breathes naturally, it doesn't need to be washed after each wear. A quick breath in the open air is often enough to freshen it up.

The tumble dryer? Absolutely to be avoided

Drying flat is the key to preserving the shape and suppleness of your wool, alpaca, cotton or linen sweaters.

• Place your coin on a clean terry towel, away from direct sunlight.
• Avoid the hanger: it deforms the shoulders.
• Fold your stitches carefully and store them flat , in a dry, ventilated drawer.

Small pills? Nothing more normal

Pilling is natural, especially at first. To restore a crisp appearance to your knit, use a gentle wool shaver or a pilling comb , always gently.

Natural tips against moths

In summer or when storing for extended periods, consider slipping a sachet of lavender or natural cedar into your drawers or closets. It's a simple, eco-friendly, and effective solution for protecting your favorite clothes.
